A Journey to the Himalayas

What are your future travel plans?

I have a deep wish to travel to Tibet someday, and also again and again, explore the areas in and around the Himalayas. There’s something about those mountains, their silence, their vastness, that calls to me in a very personal way …

I don’t just want to visit as a tourist; I dream of living in a quiet Himalayan valley for a while, among the locals, embracing the pace and peace of that life. I feel like I’ll take the silence from nature and the strength from the mountains to keep writing all my thoughts. And in that stillness, I know I’ll paint too, letting the changing light, the prayer flags, the rivers and skies guide my brush. Creating art in that sacred landscape feels like a return to something essential …

The Himalayas feel like more than just a destination, they feel like a kind of home I wish to reach again and again. So yes, they are definitely in my future travel plans, hopefully sooner than later …

  1. i hope your dreams come true. I want to travel but permanently stay there. Some place where there is clean, pristine air and where the sun shines with less fire but enough to keep me warm and where the people are simple and good-natured. Some place that seems white and gold and vast of space and terrain. I think i am describing my childhood roots. — When do you think you’ll start packing and how long would u like to stay in Tibet?

    1. Your words feel like a quiet poem, white and gold, simple and kind. I hope you find your way back to that feeling, that place that mirrors your roots …

As for Tibet, I’m not quite sure yet… but if it happens, I’d love for it to be slow and deep, maybe at least a month, if life allows. Let’s see where the road leads …

  2. I think a trip to Tibet would be amazing. There are so many countries I’d love to visit, but I don’t know when I’ll ever get a chance to travel around the world.

But I do wish you success in achieving your dream to live in a Tibetan valley for a while. I imagine you would find calm, peace of mind, and an appreciation for the stillness of nature.
