It’s not possible for you to see, feel, or understand
How many times she has been unseen and unheard
And still, she chose to show up …
It’s not quite possible for you to know
What it takes to carry on
When the world never learned to make room for her pain …
You see her laugh, light up a room, carry joy in her voice
But you don’t see the weight behind it
Every smile is a decision, not a default …
It takes quiet, relentless courage
To choose hope after growing up in chaos, confusion and fear …
To rise each day and still
Believe in goodness, in light,
is a strength many will never understand …
She isn’t just surviving
She’s rewriting her story, one brave moment at a time
That’s not just resilience
That’s power …
And when was the last time you truly saw someone, without needing their smile to prove they’re okay?
Tell me!
You’ve captured the quiet strength of those who carry invisible burdens with such grace and clarity.

We do not pay attention to the skills and purpose of listening. So many people hide their concerns, they try to hide emotions, and oftem because they feel nobody will listen to them. When a person does unburden then they are looking for the signals they are beng heard. We need to think about what those might be.

So true. Sometimes, just feeling genuinely heard can be more healing than any advice …
Thanks David!

Very thoughtful verse, Roksana, and it’s a great testimony about how we never know what’s truly going on in someone else’s life.
I recently had a coworker open up in a team meeting about how she and her husband have been struggling to have a baby and a recent miscarriage. No one knew about this and it helped us all to understand that she’d been hiding it behind a false smile.
It’s rare to be given that kind of insight into another life, and I think everyone left the meeting with not only tears in their eyes, but also a reminder to be patience and kind to others. They may really need it.

Thank you Richard for sharing that! Stories like your coworker’s are deeply moving! They remind us how much is often hidden behind everyday smiles …
We truly never know what someone is carrying. And that’s why kindness and patience should always be our first response …
I’m touched you connected it with my verse!
