Turona’s Mountain

There was a small village at the foot of a mountain. The village was called Shantipur. In that village lived a little girl named Turona. Every day, Turona would gaze at the big mountain from afar. In the morning, the mountain sparkled in golden sunlight, and by evening, it glowed in a soft reddish hue …

One day, Turona decided she would climb to the top of that mountain. Everyone said, ‘It’s too high, you won’t be able to.’ But Turona smiled and replied, ‘How will I know if I don’t try?’ …

The next morning, she set off with a bottle of water, some fruit, and a notebook. On the way, she grew tired, her feet ached on the stones, yet she didn’t stop. Sometimes she sat down to rest, listening to the sound of the wind and watching the birds fly …

Finally, after noon, she reached the top of the mountain. Looking down, she saw how beautiful her little village was, green fields, tiny houses, and a silver river flowing gently through it …

In her notebook, Turona wrote, ‘The joy of reaching the highest place only comes when you refuse to give up.’ …

Then she closed her eyes and took a deep breath. The air smelled of freedom, and inside her heart, there was peace …

She realized that the real mountain wasn’t outside, but within her. And that day, she had conquered both …

How we used to write short stories when we were young! I remember how every night I’d make up stories to tell my little sisters before they fell asleep. I used to jot down bits of them in my notebook too. Often, I’d go up to our rooftop with that notebook, gazing at the distant sky until my thoughts drifted away. I wanted to write, and sometimes, I did. Other times, I simply got lost in my own imagination!

I’m sure it happened with you too!

Anyways, now tell me,
What is the ‘mountain’ in your own life that you’ve been afraid to climb?
Or tell me,
When was the last time you tried something even though others doubted you?

Presence

But listen
You are allowed to take up space
To speak and not explain
To choose and not apologise
To rest without guilt

The world does not collapse when you say no
You are not unkind for drawing a line
You are not selfish for wanting more

There is power in your presence
Even when it is firm
Even when it is loud
Even when it is yours

Susurro

A soft heart carries its pain in silence, absorbing the weight of unspoken emotions. It feels deeply, loves unconditionally, and endures quietly, often without anyone noticing. But even the gentlest heart deserves kindness, from others and from itself.

Strength lies not in hiding pain, but in allowing oneself to heal

Jian Bird Creates – Mindful Drawing Moments

Creating ‘Mindful Moments’ may seem easy, but no, my dear, it’s not. The human heart is intricate and complex. You cannot just dive into someone’s heart and make it open to you effortlessly.

However, at Jian Bird Creates – ‘Mindful Drawing Moments’ program, it’s a completely different experience. Every session becomes a deeply enriching and humbling journey for me. I see light reflected in every participant’s journey. They share stories from their lives, sometimes sensitive and difficult, yet they find the courage to open up and unwind in a safe, supportive space. This vulnerability not only deepens the connection between us but also creates an environment of mutual healing and growth.

I’m profoundly grateful to my participants for giving me these beautiful moments to cherish for a long time.

Theme of the Day for the program:
Small Habits/Steps at a Time

Theme of the session was ‘Small Habits/Steps at a Time,’ which beautifully aligns with patterned artwork. Just as habits are formed by repeating small actions, participants created mesmerizing artworks by repeating simple patterns like dots and circles, infusing their unique touch. The results were truly stunning.

The underlying inspiration of this journey was Kaizen, the Japanese concept of continuous improvement. It emphasizes making small, consistent changes to bring about meaningful progress in life.

Reflections and Realizations:

Our participants shared their proudest achievements, goals, and heartfelt inspirations. They opened up about their aspirations for life, such as, self-love, better sleep, improving health, striving for balance, and living a non-judgemental and more disciplined life. Listening to their reflections reminded me of the beauty and power of setting intentional goals.

We realized that no matter how much we achieve, it’s all in vain without inner peace. Here, we focus on fully enjoying the process of taking every small step toward our goals. With a grateful and satisfied mind, it becomes easier to embrace the essence of life and simply “Just be, just be!”

Closing Thoughts

Be mindful of the small things in life, appreciate them, and take small steps. Each small action brings us closer to our true selves, fostering growth and gratitude within

With warmth and gratitude,
Roksana Amelia

Jijivisha

So I smiled at me
During my downtime,
When the world became quiet
And the noise of the day
Faded into the soft hum
Of my own thoughts …

I found a comfort
In the echo of silence …
In the reflection of my heart,
In the gentle nod of self-acceptance,
Knowing that in the stillness,
I am enough …

I found myself
In a moment of confusion,
Flickering like nearby, distant stars…
Leaving me
To wonder,
To ponder
The newly discovered
Myself and serendipity …

Ah!
That haze in the spark …
That whisper of confusion …
And of uncertainty …
There is a path
For me …
A chance
To see, to know, to be …

So I smile
More during my downtime,
When the world becomes quiet
And the noise of the day
Fades into the soft hum
Of my own thoughts …

Poetry has taken over a poem
Time is on my side
Thrilled to watch me try ….

Poetry has taken over a poem
Love is beautiful and wide
Whose music will never die …

Poetry has taken over a poem
Moment is now and happening
A tale being told in the sky …

Poetry has taken over a poem
Stillness fills up empty spaces
Answers my every single why …

‘All poems are poetry, but not all poetry is a poem’ ….

Conversation over Coffee

She says, He says
He says, She says

⁃ You ll get hurt.

⁃ Then try not to hurt me. And why are you determined to hurt me? Do you need time? To think?

⁃ No

⁃ Okay. I asked you to go on a trip with me but why haven’t you replied? What’s with that look? This is boring. Forget it.

⁃ Have you ever lied in your life?

⁃ I don’t lie. But to be truth to you I have lied when I was little.

Oh, wait! I guess I’m lying right now?

⁃ Now?

⁃ The fact that you still haven’t given me an answer about going on a trip together is really getting on my nerves right now. And I’m honestly a little hurt. But I’m acting like I’m fine, so I guess that counts as a lie. Heyyyy, why are you laughing? If you don’t like me that much, let’s just end it here.

⁃ You can’t just thoughtlessly trust someone when they haven’t done anything to gain your trust. We are not kids.

⁃ You have a point. Right!

⁃ Let’s go on a trip.

⁃ What? But I didn’t do anything to gain your trust.

⁃ You did.

⁃ When?

⁃ Just now. You told me you don’t lie. That’s good enough.

⁃ You’re very peculiar.

⁃ Let’s go on a trip to Stupa Island.

⁃ Stupa Island sounds great.

⁃ Okay.
