Pondering

In puzzled ponder, a name I’ve heard
Though “Roksana” my soul preferred …
Yet as time passed by
A fondness did arise
Love’s influence moves my heart …
Let the name be my tender song
In love’s embrace, I truly belong …

  1. Beautiful..And to think our names are chosen for us, we do not choose them ourselves. We carry its energy for entire life. Makes one realize how important it is to choose wisely for our babies ❤️

  2. Names have meaning and can function as a prophecy.

“Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name:
    That in the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth;
And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.”
    Philippians 2:9-11 (KJV)

    1. Thank you, KK ji…

      You’re absolutely correct!
Then again, ‘a name is a name is a name’ … a famous quote appreciated by many …. has a deeper meaning …

Yet we all love our name in our hearts
And also we love the names given to us by our loved ones/ who love us …. Those names remain closest in our hearts!
      😊

  3. adorable poem, Roksana. I still and will always love rhyme. A song can make my mood jump from low to high very quickly. I am happy you are able to find that leap in a name. Sweetness is auditory sometimes.

    1. Thank you dear Stephie for your kind words!

Rhymes indeed have a special charm, don’t they? Since I was young, I’ve had a passion for rhyming, often spending my time crafting playful verses. During my school days, I would spontaneously create rhymes for my classmates and later on, for my students. I used to read lots of rhymes with my children even …

Certainly music has a unique power to uplift our spirits, and it’s wonderful to hear that you experience such joy from it. Finding sweetness in sound, whether through poetry or music, truly adds brightness to life.

Well, yes, I love my name – Those who cherish me refer to me as Amelia, Aunt Amy, or Roksy … and people call me Roksana.

I have another nickname, but it’s not one I’m fond of. Consequently, I keep it private, and only my family and close friends from school use it. I can’t stop them from using it since they’ve been calling me by that nickname since childhood. 😊 What can I do!!
