Let’s Dance

I was calm and then you’ve come
And the storm is dwelling inside me
Ever since …

I was a tranquil sea, still and serene
Whispering lullabies to the shore
Then your presence
Like a fierce wind
Unsettles the depths ….
See! What you’ve done to me!

Gentle ripples
Morph into crashing waves,
My heart, once a quiet harbor
Now a tempest’s playground ….

Lightning thoughts
Thundering pulses
A tempest’s eye
Restless and wild
OMG!

You’ve come,
And the calm is no more
Only the storm,
Dwelling inside me …

What should we do now?
Together
Let’s dance 💃🕺
Shall we?

It was raining so much yesterday! It makes me romantic, I think. What does rain do to you?

  2. your marvelous poem reminds me of the song by Boz Scaggs, Look what You’ve done to me. — — I too am affected by rain; when it pours or sprinkles, my spirit soars. I become a soul in flight, entering the majesty of heaven and contentment. Storms also are a delight that somehow sparkle excitement and energy in me. — Have a wonderful weekend, Amy. Is it ok to call you that?

    1. Thank you Stephie for sharing your thoughts and the connection to Boz Scaggs’ song …
      I never heard though!

Rain has a magical way of lifting spirits and sparking creativity. I appreciate your kind words, and yes, calling me Amy is absolutely fine! My littlest nephews call me Aunt Amy 😊 I love that a lot!

Wishing you a wonderful weekend filled with joy and inspiration.

    2. Hope they never end this song
This could take us all night long
I looked at the moon and I felt blue
Then I looked again and I saw you

Eyes like fire in the night
      Bridges burning with their light
Now I want to spend the whole night through
And honey, yes, I’d like to spend it all on you

Love, look what you’ve done to me
Never thought I’d fall again so easily
Oh love, you wouldn’t lie to me
Leading me to feel this way

I’m not sure when it happened
      I didn’t mean for it to …
      But somewhere along the way
I fell in love with you …

They might fade and turn to stone
      Let’s get crazy all alone
Hold me closer than you’d ever dare
Close your eyes and I’ll be there

And after all is said and done
After all you are the one
Take me up your stairs and through the door

Take me where we don’t care anymore
Love, look what you’ve done to me
Never thought I’d fall again so easily
Oh love, you wouldn’t lie to me, would you?

Every little things that you do
I’m so in love with you ….

Leading me to feel this way
Love, look what you’ve done to me
Never thought I’d fall again so easily
Oh love, you wouldn’t lie to me
Leading me to feel this way

  3. A lovely poem that balances between the calm waters and the storm-tossed waves. Much like any relationship. It also reminds me of this song. Perhaps a bit melancholy, but it always makes me think of the sea.

The art and colors in your sketchbook are so vibrant. Your happiness comes through in your art.

As for rain, it makes me want to open the windows so I can hear the raindrops on the leaves and smell the damp air on the breeze. It also makes me want to write and sketch. Quiet and solitary.

    1. Richard, thank you for your beautiful feedback.

Relationships do often feel like navigating between calm and stormy waters. I’d love to hear that song you’re reminded of—
I agree, sometimes a bit of melancholy can be deeply moving, much like the sea itself …
However, I’m unable to listen to melancholy music or songs like these- I feel a kind of heaviness in my heart and it’s quite unbearable to me. So I avoid … My cells are weak in that way- you can say!

And I’m glad my sketches convey that happiness to you. It’s wonderful to hear that the vibrancy comes through in my art and that’s what I aim for –

Quiet and solitary- my words for these days, I think –
And that sounds absolutely serene and inspiring about the way rain is related to you. Undoubtedly, rain has a way of creating a peaceful atmosphere perfect for creativity and reflection …

      Thanks once again!
Have a wonderful day ahead …
