You say
‘I’m overwhelming’;
I don’t know
How to untangle this web of feelings …

You say,
‘Don’t be so hard on yourself;
I don’t know
How long these ache linger in my mind …

You say,
‘Deep breaths. Relax’;
I don’t know
Why my breath is fleeting and
My calm turns to fear and agony …

You say
‘Rein in your heart’;
I don’t know
What walls to build around my soul …

You say
‘Pain is inevitable’;
I don’t know
When these wounds will mend …

You say
‘I’m leaving soon;
I don’t know
Will our eyes meet ever! …

I only know
Amidst the shadows of doubt
This love remains pure …
Sanctifying me
Like a deity in devotion …

A deep and unwavering love may persists despite uncertainty or doubt. Even when surrounded by ‘shadows of doubt’, love remain untainted and pure. Love is both a source of strength and a spiritual experience with a sense of purity and sanctity …

  2. Love is so difficult to quantify. It’s a powerful emotion – probably the strongest emotion – yet it can also make us weak and vulnerable. It’s a motivator and can drive us to do both great and terrible things. It’s also life-sustaining, giving us light in the darkness, air when we are breathless, and light when all seems dark.

    I love the verse you wrote here. I think it captures all the different aspects of love.

  3. Love is the one emotion that keeps us alive, there are so many different forms of love..Thats why it survives despite many odds. It’s the only way to keep living.The poem was very insightful and made me think ..thanks for sharing. 😊🌺

  5. we say a lot of things to people without considering how much they will obsess over it. I dont even talk to people anymore. My mind remains free of chatter clutter. lol 🙂 — actually, I do find love to be a wholesome emotion if one can find a good mutual person to exchange a bunch of shared emotional energies and life’s trials and triumphs. It can be quite rewarding. I have to admire couples who stay married for 60 yrs through thick and thin. That must be a very strong love that ties them perpetually through the years.
