Musings

She’s the kind who clings like ivy,
Wrapping herself around that feels warm, loved and right …
And
She’s the one if shattered like glass
Wrap herself in a blanket as dark and deep as the ocean’s depths …

  1. Love the photo. It’s a perfect pairing with your verse. I think we’re all capable of being that ivy, clinging a bit too tightly when we feel secure and loved. Yet our hearts shatter like a wine glass when dealt a blow.

Here’s hoping we all get to be ivy more often than broken glass. 🙂

    1. It’s true that we tend to cling tightly when we feel safe and secure, but it’s in those moments of vulnerability that we discover our strength …

Thank you, Richard, for your thoughtful response. I really appreciate your interpretation and the imagery you’ve shared—it truly adds depth to my verse …

Just as you wished, I too hope we all get more opportunities to be like the ivy, growing resiliently toward the light… That’s what truly matters in life …

Have a wonderful weekend soon 🌟

  2. If shattered, she wraps herself so the loose shards dont hurt others near her. If she clings it’s because she is healthy and filled with fresh chlorophyll and if not, then the grip she has on you will weaken because she has weakened too. Such is life! — I do luv these metaphors, Amy. Nice work.

    1. Thank you my dear Michele!

I’m glad to find you here! Also grateful to have you appreciated my simple musings on ‘Her’ ….

I think metaphors can capture the nuances of how we feel in ways that plain words sometimes can’t …

Do you have any favorite metaphors that resonate with you?
